About Me

Hi, welcome to my academic homepage! I’m Yao Zhou, currently an associate research professor with Machine Intelligence Lab in College of Computer Science of Sichuan University. I received my PhD degree in Computer Science from Sichuan University in 2019, under the supervision of Prof. Yi Zhang.

From Aug 2017 to Feb 2019, I was a visiting researcher (sponsored by China Scholarship Council) at Oklahoma State University, US, and collaborated with Prof. Gary G. Yen on evolutionary computation methods for compressing deep neural networks.

Research Interest

My primary research areas are deep neural networks (DNNs), evolutionary computation (EC) and their applications. I’m particularly interested in model compression and automated artificial intelligence.
